    • This meeting will be interpreted in Spanish.
    • During this fourth virtual community meeting, LVEJO will be reporting back to residents and allies on Ald. Rodriguez’s 22nd Ward Economic Development Committee meeting last week June 26, 2020. Learn more on where some Little Village leaders and institutions stand regarding the Hilco demolition and “development.” Also will be sharing on Hilco and Heneghan Wrecking & Excavating meeting.

    • Durante esta cuarta junta comunitaria virtual, LVEJO informará a los residentes y aliados sobre la junta del Comité de Desarrollo Económico del Distrito 22 del Concejal Rodríguez de la semana pasada el 26 de junio de 2020. Obtenga más información sobre la posición de algunos líderes e instituciones de La Villita con respecto a la demolición y el “desarrollo” de Hilco. También compartiremos en la “junta comunitaria” de Hilco y Heneghan Wrecking & Excavating.

  • On July 2, 2020 Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP) replied with answers to LVEJO’s questions that were submitted for their virtual “community meeting.” There were many unclear answers, but one highlight we want to share is that HRP provided with an email and telephone number (HRPinfo@hilcoglobal.com | 312-796-6281) that local residents can call if they see debris or dust clouds leaving the site. Also want to encourage local residents to also report these “incidents” to 311.
  • El 2 de julio de 2020, Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP) respondió con respuestas a las preguntas de LVEJO que se presentaron para su “reunión comunitaria” virtual. Hubo muchas respuestas poco claras, pero un punto destacado que queremos compartir es que HRP recibió un correo electrónico y un número de teléfono (HRPinfo@hilcoglobal.com | 312-796-6281) que los residentes locales pueden llamar si ven escombros o nubes de polvo saliendo del sitio. También quiero alentar a los residentes locales a que también reporten estos “incidentes” al 311.

  • Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP), hosted their THIRD (virtual on June 27, 2020) “community meeting”, making it close to the 2 year mark of their last community meetings hosted summer of 2018. They did not answer all of the questions nor acknowledge the true physical and mental harm they caused Little Village and neighboring resident. We are once again echoing our list of demands which included Hilco Redevelopment Partners to vacate Little Village at once! For those that didn’t attend, Hilco said they would upload the recording of the “meeting.” In the meantime, please take a look at the chat document we have to take a look at the type of questions and comments LV residents and allied had to Hilco and Heneghan Wrecking Co.
  • Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP) organizó su TERCERA “reunión comunitaria” (virtual el 27 de Junio del 2020) , por lo que fue cerca de la marca de 2 años de sus últimas reuniones comunitarias organizadas el verano de 2018. No respondieron a todas las preguntas ni reconocieron el verdadero físico y daño mental que causaron en La Villita y las comunidades al rededor. Una vez más, estamos haciendo eco de nuestra lista de demandas que incluía a Hilco Redevelopment Partners pare el trabajo y se vaya de inmediato de La Villita. Para aquellos que no asistieron, Hilco dijo que subirían la grabación de la “reunión”. Mientras tanto, eche un vistazo al documento de chat (solo esta en Ingles) que tenemos para ver el tipo de preguntas y comentarios que los residentes de LV y sus aliados tuvieron con Hilco y Heneghan Wrecking Co.

  • No surprise that Hilco Redevelopment Partners are sending propaganda brochure to residents of Little Village but also Archer Heights! We received a few images and emails today, June 20, 2020 regarding this PR stunt.
    • No where in the brochure does it state their company’s name.
    • In the last community meeting they held (circa summer 2018) they said they couldn’t promise that the company that they would lease (we know it’s Target) would hire directly from Little Village. BUT…
    • We know warehouse jobs are intense poverty jobs, with high reports of income theft, discrimination and abuse, lack of healthcare benefits, to name a few problems. Visit Warehouse Workers For Justice and DCH1 Amazonians United to learn more about their campaigns to bring good jobs and share workers rights.
    • Why is Hilco Redevelopment Partners hiding and not claiming their Exchange 55 project?

  • ¡No nos sorprende que Hilco Redevelopment Partners envíe folletos de propaganda a los residentes de La Villita, sino también a residentes de Archer Heights! Recibimos algunas imágenes y correos electrónicos hoy, 20 de junio de 2020 con respecto a este truco de relaciones públicas.
    • En ningún lugar del folleto dice el nombre de su compañía.
    • En la última junta comunitaria que se llevo acabo (alrededor del verano de 2018) dijeron que no podían prometer que la compañía que arrendarían (sabemos que es Target) contrataría a residentes directamente de La Villita. PERO el problema es …
    • Sabemos que los trabajos de almacén son trabajos de sueldos bajos, con varios reportes de robo de ingresos, discriminación y abuso, falta de beneficios de atención médica, por nombrar algunos problemas.   • We received a notice from City of Chicago on June 19, 2020 stating that demolition will continue at the former Crawford Site, but has instructed Hilco Redevelopment Partners (HRP) to share the demo process as well as HOST A VIRTUAL COMMUNITY MEETING / JUNTA. The last meeting HRP hosted, was close to 2 years ago!!We have attached all documents and have highlighted important information Little Village residents and allies should note on this post.Unfortunately the notice from the City is not bilingual/spanish.
    • Reminder that HRP will be hosting a virtual community community meeting. Following a series of community meetings hosted by the City of Chicago, the demolition contractor at Exchange 55, Heneghan Wrecking & Excavation Co., Inc., will host a bilingual Virtual Community Meeting to review the details about the upcoming demolition, timeline and dust mitigation plan for the remaining structures at the site of the former Crawford Station power plant located at 3501 South Pulaski Road.
